The overwhelming benefits of Exercise
To some people exercise can seem like a chore, but there are so many advantages to working out that we really want to try and change that mind set of yours, especially nowadays!
We rely heavily on machines to do jobs for us; more so now than we ever have. For example…we pop in the car to get to most places, we use a lot more public transport now, we sit at desks all day then come home and sit in front of the TV, we use a machine to wash our clothes, we shop from our phones without stepping foot outside, there are less manual working jobs and we desperately need to make up for that and prevent ourselves from becoming lazy and unwell! It’s actually really bad for us to stay stagnant for long periods of time and inactivity has now been labelled “The silent killer” We don’t want to sound too dark and gloomy about the risks of not exercising enough, but it’s quite chilling to realise that being inactive is so detrimental to our health!
We do understand how busy life can be, honestly, we do, it’s non-stop! But exercising is so important to our overall health and wellbeing that it needs to be a necessity in our lives! A bit like eating is! If you struggle to find time, then try and fit in 3 sessions a week at first. Exercise doesn’t have to be boring; it can be anything that gets that heart rate going! A brisk walk, a jog, dancing, cycling, tennis the gym or of course, our favourite…. Bootcamp UK!
Still unsure?? Ok, let’s list all the reasons why you should exercise and help encourage you to want to do this for yourself! Honestly, once you pop you won’t stop!
It combats health conditions and reduces the risk of heart disease
Scientific research has shown that if you work out at a moderate to intense level at least 90 mins a week, it increases life expectancy by 3 years! That’s not much hard work for such an extension on life! 75 minutes of intense exercise or 150 minutes of moderate exercise has been the set goal to a much healthier lifestyle!
It can also reduce your risk of getting major illnesses such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke and some cancers by up to 50%!! We think that’s incredible!
It helps to control weight
Want to stay slim and eat well! We all want this don’t we?? Exercising is that reason we can do that! Obviously, we still need to eat well, but the odd chocolate cake and a pizza won’t have any bad affects on your weight if you exercise enough! There you go, this point alone will be enough for some!
It helps mood, promotes sleep and aids the symptoms of mental health
Exercising can make you feel good by releasing endorphins and serotonin which can help improve your mood, this can then relieve stress (which help your skin massively) and ultimately helps you relax, in turn improving sleep which then provides you such an enormous sense of well-being! Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on those suffering with mental health issues as well. Studies have even shown that exercise can treat mild to moderate depression as effectively as antidepressant medication!!!! If you had to chose drugs or exercise…I think we know which you’d go for!
It Boosts Energy
Ever felt so lethargic you just want to curl up on the sofa and close your eyes? Yeah….us too! To get over that tight grip tiredness can have on us at times, get up and go for a training session! We promise you it helps! And it will help your energy levels in the long term as well, not just a quick fix!
Group exercise can be great for your social life! Get out there and meet some great people! Want to meet likeminded people in your area, this is a great way to do that!
Good for your Muscles and Bones
It builds and maintains strong muscles and bones reducing injuries especially as you grow older. Training also helps build bone density when you are younger, preventing osteoporosis later in life.
Can help brain and memory
By increasing your heart rate, this promotes the flow of blood and oxygen to your brain! It can also help produce hormones which can enhance brain cell growth! We can all be brainy AND fit!
Can reduce pain
As well as helping to reduce the pain caused by some health conditions, exercise can also help raise pain tolerance! That’s like a superpower!
So, concluding this blog it seems that exercise is extremely powerful…please use it and reap the benefits!
